Job Requirements for Senior Waiter/Waitress Position
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a la carte service, ideally in a fine dining or upmarket environment
- Excellent command of spoken English
- Sound knowledge of food and wine, including provenance and presentation
- Reliable, punctual, and honest with strong communication skills
- Available to work full-time hours, including weekends
- Must have a legal right to work in New Zealand
Responsibilities for Senior Waiter/Waitress Position
- Greet and seat guests with warmth and professionalism
- Deliver a seamless dining experience from order to payment
- Recommend and serve food and beverages with deep menu knowledge
- Handle customer queries and feedback with grace and confidence
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure service excellence
- Set up, maintain, and reset dining areas on time
- Uphold hygiene and presentation standards at all times
Other Responsibilities
- Assist with staff training and onboarding as needed
- Monitor and manage table turnover while maintaining quality service
- Maintain accurate knowledge of specials, wine pairings, and sourcing
- Support team members to uphold smooth FOH operations
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and service regulations
