Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Head Chef.
  
• A Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or its equivalent.
  
• A current Food Safety Handling Certificate.
  
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
  
• Knowledge of hotel kitchen operations and current culinary trends.
  
• High-level organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  
• The ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and food safety software.
  
• A sound understanding of Health & Safety obligations and compliance with SOPs and hotel policies.

Responsibilities

As the Head Chef, your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the kitchen team with a hands-on, positive approach.
  
• Hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating kitchen staff.
  
• Collaborating with the F&B and Front Office teams for seamless service.
  
• Creating innovative menus that blend international flavours.
  
• Monitoring food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure consistency.
  
• Managing food inventory, storage, and stock rotation efficiently.
  
• Controlling kitchen costs and ensuring operations stay within budget.
  
• Maintaining health and safety compliance in the kitchen.
  
• Handling guest inquiries professionally when needed.
  
• Ensuring smooth operations during peak hours with direct involvement.
  
• Supporting team development and retention through multi-skilling and planning.
