Job Requirements for Skilled Civil Labourer Position

To be considered, candidates must meet the following:

  • Proven experience in civil construction, drainage, or live services
  • Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • A strong work ethic with punctuality and reliability
  • Basic understanding of on-site health and safety protocols
  • WTR endorsements or Class 2 licence is a bonus (not mandatory)
  • Willingness to work across multiple Waikato-based sites

Responsibilities for Skilled Civil Labourer Position

  • Assist with trenching, digging, and spotting underground services
  • Perform pipe laying, backfilling, and groundwork preparation
  • Support machine operators and skilled tradesmen
  • Conduct general site clean-up and material handling
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with safety standards and procedures
  • Follow supervisor’s instructions and contribute to a productive worksite

Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with team members to maintain an efficient workflow
  • Participate in daily site safety meetings and toolbox talks
  • Help maintain site cleanliness and organize materials
  • Identify potential hazards and report them promptly
  • Upskill in relevant areas, including health and safety, tool handling, and drainage systems
  • Represent Alignz Recruitment professionally while on-site
